The Department of Creative Industries brings together programmes and courses in broadcasting (the New Zealand Broadcasting School), art, design, fashion, music, and music theatre.
The National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art (NASDA) has established itself over more than two decades as New Zealand's foremost provider of tertiary education in music theatre.
NASDA is dedicated to excellence in music theatre training and aims to produce fully integrated performers capable of employment all over the performing arts industry. The prosperous performer anywhere in the industry today needs to be versatile and dynamic, with an capability to sing, dance and act. This programme prioritises the acquisition of strong technique in all these areas through a busy schedule of specialist classes and productions to ensure its graduates are confident, practiced and effective performers in musicals, plays and cabaret.
With some of New Zealand's foremost practitioners and discipline experts forming its exceptional tutor base, Ara's strong and functional community and industry links ensure vocational and professional programmes that produce graduates with effective and practical creative expertise.
The function
Development, leadership abilities and teaching of the NASDA Bachelor of Performing Arts programme.

   » A degree in Performing Arts, Music Theatre or a related discipline
   » Current industry/discipline expertise
   » Proven, broad practice as a practitioner in Music Theatre
   » Teaching practice in Performing Arts in a formal education environment
   » expertise and practice in one or more of the following:
   » Singing technique/coaching
   » Acting technique
   » Dance technique/choreography
   » Musical Direction
   » Stage Direction
