Position Overview:
As the Manager Planning and Development, you will lead the Environmental Planning and City Development teams in efficiently delivering services that shape the community's future. In this strategic business unit leadership abilities function, you will set and execute strategies while guiding your teams to achieve our collective goals and purpose. Your skills will be instrumental in becoming the Council's foremost expert in planning and development matters.
Key Job responsibilities:
   » Lead, mentor, and manage the environmental planning and city development teams.
   » supervise the execution of the complete planning and development work program, including financial management, compliance, and reporting.
   » Lead the two functional areas of planning and development, providing high-quality guidance to the Council and Senior leadership abilities team.
   » Utilise your skills in resource management plan processes, preferably within a local government context.
   » Demonstrate strengths in areas such as urban development, housing and business growth planning, housing provision, urban design, and city transformation.
   » Exhibit strong management and leadership abilities skills, attention to detail, sound judgment, and effective decision-making.
   » Maintain a high level of communication, and relationship management, and prioritise customer service with a solution-focused approach.
   » Forge strong partnerships with diverse community stakeholders and understand the political dynamics of the community.

Qualifications and practice Required:
   » Proven management and leadership abilities capabilities, with a track record of leading teams to success.
   » practice in resource management plan processes, ideally within a local government setting.
   » A strong knowledge of political influences on planning and development.
   » Demonstrated capability to build and maintain productive partnerships with diverse community stakeholders.
   » Practical management and leadership abilities skills with a focus on results.
   » Exceptional attention to detail, sound judgment, initiative, and strong decision-making.
