Network manager

The Northland Transportation Alliance (NTA) is a collaboration between the Whangarei, Kaipara and Far North District Councils, Northland Regional Council and Waka Kotahi (New Zealand Transport Agency) to deliver joined-up transportation services for Northland. This holder of this function will be employed by Whangarei District Council and will be located in Whangarei.
About the function:
The Network manager forms part of a team of four within the Maintenance & Operations team located in the Whangarei offices. Reporting to the Maintenance Lead, you will collect, process, and evaluate information for routine and programmed works, to ensure a forward work programme is undertaken to maintain the roading network to the specified service level. In addition, you will also contribute to formulating contractor's monthly work program, asset management forward works program and providing technical support to the Area managers to ensure a consistent quality across the roading network.
About you:
To be prosperous in this function We are seeking for Somebody with interpersonal communication and collaboration expertise, an capability and knowledge of collecting and using electronic data and a customer first approach. You will be someone who is confident providing back up and technical support for Area managers as well as carrying out quality assurance monitoring and assistance in the achievement of project and maintenance works in Roading Assets. Travel to other parts of the Northland region may be necessary on an occasional basis. You'll need to be highly organised with an capability to prioritise and work to deadlines, and someone who enjoys being part of a team.
The requirements sought of a candidate for this function are:
   » significant tertiary qualification such as the Diploma in Civil Engineering or Roading, or equivalent practice in road maintenance, construction or sealing contract management
   » practice supporting co-workers with technical advice and guidance
   » practice with quality assurance processes
   » practice in contractor management
   » practice workload determination and forward works programming
   » Current clean driver's licence
   » practice with RAMM databases and computer literacy
   » Current Level 1 Traffic Controllers certificate or equivalent. Site Traffic Management manager Certificate would be a definite advantage
