If you enjoy seasonal work and living on an island, and have hospitality practice then get in touch. We run a very busy summer Bar & Bistro within the Kawau Boating Club on Kawau Island (one hour north of Auckland then a 40 min ferry ride to us). There are no cars or roads on the island and your work place is a waterfront boating club! We are the only licensed venue on the island - we are a destination for all boaties big and small, and our locals (approx 70 full timers live on the island). Our premises offers fuel 24/7, a mini 'shop', off licence, all day menu, laundry and toilet/shower facilities. We are seeking for couples particularly (to optimise accommodation), but all candidates considered. We have accommodation available for a minimal weekly rent and offer great benefits to staff. Our accommodation is cabin style (new last season) with a communal kitchen, shower toilet and large deck - only 3 mins walk to the club and 1 min to the beach. We are open 7 days a week from mid December - we have two shifts per day - giving you time to enjoy the beautiful island life (fishing, swimming, hiking etc). We normally open our season Labour Weekend but due to Covid 19 have delayed opening until Information technology is safe to do so. (We are anticipating a Level 2 opening). At this stage we looking for expressions of interest - we are anticipating a pre xmas opening however not sure of the lead time we will have.
