About our group and team
The Resourcing Group is responsible for delivering operational funding and staffing entitlements to nearly 2,500 schools. We administer annual payments of approximately $5.8 billion to Schools and Kura.
We provide high quality financial advice and support to Schools and Boards of Trustees. We ensure Schools and Early Childhood centres receive correct resourcing entitlements through our Monitoring programme. We provide resourcing operational policy advice and guidance and produce one-off solutions to resourcing issues. Our Resourcing Contact Centre also provides direct telephone and email support to Schools’, Early Childhood Centres and the general public.
About this function
The Manager, Resourcing Operations is responsible for superviseing the business as usual functions of the Resourcing Group. They are responsible for ensuring the Manager of these business functions deliver on their work programmes in a timely manner, with no impact on schools or the sector. The business functions include the Resourcing Contact Centre, the Monitoring Team, and the Delivery and Operational Policy team. The Manager, Resourcing Operations is accountable for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of resourcing payments and related advice to schools and kura. This is a both a challenging and compensateing position where you will fill a key leadership abilities function within the Resourcing Group.
About you
As this function has a strong focus on delivering business functions including government initiatives, the prosperous candidate will ideally have previous practice in the management of projects and people leadership abilities.
Key accountabilities:
   » Develop and maintain a comprehensive work programme and sequence activities to ensure that linkages and dependencies between key deliverables are identified and managed
   » Ensure the delivery of business functions and services are to a high level of quality, on time and within budget
   » Provide a professional and efficient interface for the provision of advice and assistance to the Sector
   » Lead and motivate a team of high performing managers and staff
   » Work with key people across the Ministry to develop solutions to address the critical issues and influence the way we work to ensure we received the best results
   » Take a continuous improvement approach, availability to endorses and adopt new ideas and constructively challenge existing data, information, systems, and processes
   » Develop a good knowledge and be able to apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga
