About our group and team
Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential.
We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people.
About this function
Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) is a whole school approach to improving learner behaviour and achievement. School Wide Practitioners provide training and continuing coaching to School Wide teams set up within the school. They work with these teams to implement consistent and sustainable behaviour support systems tha t promote quality teaching and learning.
As a School Wide Practitioner you will:
   » play a critical function in training and supporting educators to implement thePositive Behaviour for Learning School-Wide (PB4L SW)framework
   » ensure that the initiative is implemented with fidelity according to international best practice
   » ensure that implementation is consistent nationally.
About you
To be prosperous you will need the following:
   » A tertiary qualification in education, psychology or other appropriate discipline significant to the focus of the position (e.g. Special Education)
   » practice working with children and young people with learning needs in a classroom or other significant setting
   » practice supporting other education professionals to meet the needs of children and young people with additional needs
   » Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an capability to work effectively with children, young people and their families and teachers across a diverse range of settings
   » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga
