We have two functions available as below, when applying please indicate in your cover letter if you have a preference of which position you are interested in. »Building Inspections In this function, the focus is on assessing onsite construction against approved building consent documents. »Building Consents In this function, the focus is on assessing building consent applications and plans against the Building Act 2004 and NZ Building Code. If you have practice or a strong interest in working within a building control environment preferably within a local authority, and are keen to work in this busy, diverse and professional team then this could be a perfect opportunity for you. To be prosperous in this function you should: » have a current working expertise of the Building Act 2004 and the NZ Building Code; » be qualified in (or working towards) a significant course of tertiary study for Building Control agents; » capability to read, comprehend and interpret plans and specifications; » be able to demonstrate a high level of competence in the use of technology; » be able to adapt quickly to challenges thrown your way; » demonstrate excellent communication expertise; » have the capability to relate well to others and understand customer needs; and » have a desire to be part of a progressive, hardworking and fun team.
