Our Finance team sits within our Corporate and Finance group, which works to enable the organisation through the provision of strategic and operational advice and support across ACC. The Financial Accounting team is responsible for monthly management reporting, statutory reporting, tax compliance, financial controls, reconciliations, and fixed assets management. About the function Our Financial Accounting Manager has secured a new function in another part of ACC, so we have a great opportunity for an practiced leader with a finance background to join our team. This is a leadership abilities function within the Finance and Planning group, across the wider business and externally with key stakeholder organisations such as the external auditors. What you will be doing You’ll be leading a team of dedicated finance professionals who work on monthly management reporting, statutory reporting, tax compliance, financial controls, and balance sheet account management. You’ll maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, sharing the right financial information at the right time to enable informed decision making. There are project opportunities to get involved in such as continuing delivery of our new Oracle system, continuous improvement initiatives and other programmes of work ahead. What We are seeking for: » A background in a finance leadership abilities function, with practice in coaching and mentoring » practice in financial accounting, ideally from within a large organisation » practice working with advanced financial systems, producing large entity financial statements, and managing month-end and year-end close and audit processes » A sound knowledge of the reporting cycle » capability to see the big picture and provide financial advice and guidance to managers for informed decision making » Broad practice in tax » Excellent interpersonal, relationship building and networking skills » Continuous improvement outlook, highly developed conceptual and analytical skills, and the capability to deal with complex and emerging issues in an ambiguous environment » Full CA membership or equivalent We are a large, complex, and interesting organisation with plenty of challenge and variety. Appointment within the range depends on skills and practice. ACC also offers 9% superannuation.
