That person who's always the life of the party, the ?head peacock' of the group; someone who loves being in front of people, the one who has the mana and capability to inspire people to see the best in themselves, and someone who never stops putting out positivity into the world. Does that sound like you?We need a superstar programmes facilitator to join our social enterprise and help lead delivery of one-day and four-day programmes for groups of 10-20 individuals in Aotearoa New Zealand's prisons, probation centres and schools. At Life101, we offer comprehensive life and financial expertise programmes to people in prisons and on probation, community groups and youth with complex needs. The success we have seen during the past 8 years has meant that We are seeking to grow our team to be able to service more people around Aotearoa. For more information on our mahi and why we do Information technology go to www.life101.co.nz We're ideally looking for Somebody with 2 years of facilitation practice, preferably in facilitating self-created and/or ?soft expertise' programmes. But, We are seeking for Somebody with an X-factor so if you think you've got what Information technology takes but aren't an practiced ?facilitator' then definitely apply for the function, we'd love to hear from you. What the function may include and what a typical day may look like for you: » be willing to work in prisons (mainly men's) and probation centres with individuals ranging from low to high security classifications. » be willing to work in low decile schools with students who have likely disengaged from the curriculum. » facilitate learning, guide and manage participant groups from all walks of life through the Life101 content. » possess the expertise, presence and maturity to positively deal with potentially challenging participants in a patient and authentic way. » adhere to the learning results and workbook format of each workshop as much as is realistically possible, depending on the group. » share personal stories and anecdotes to foster open communication with participants. » have the natural capability to motivate participants to make positive choices in their lives by creating a safe, interesting and inspiring space that enables them to engage with learning, and their personal development. Other key requirements for this function are: » capability to work with groups of people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. » a natural storyteller. » knowledge and appreciation of Maori and Pasifika cultures. » capability to practice culturally safe ways of working with Maori. » naturally strong problem solving mindset and the capability to ?dance in the moment? in front of a group of people. » passionate about the ?greater good?- for participants, whanau, and communities. The nature of this function means there is quite a bit of travel out of Auckland (Northland, Wellington, Waikato etc) and you'll need to have the flexibility to spend up to five nights away in the house at any one time. To be prosperous in this function you will need to be more than just a teacher of information. You will need to have the natural capability to get across the magic that motivates someone to want to put what they've learnt into action.
