   »Chief/Principal Policy Analyst – ECE Policy
   »located in Wellington
   »Permanent full-time
We are seeking for a Chief Policy Analyst to join our policy group in the ECE Policy team. You’ll lead the development of policy in some high profile, new and challenging areas. This is a key leadership abilities function in the team, working closely with the senior policy manager and leaders across the Ministry and public service.
About the team
The Early Childhood Policy team focuses on designing high quality funding and regulatory approaches for early learning services. This work helps to support parental choices and supports children in their early years to enjoy a good life, lgain and thrive in a safe environment. We are often involved in securing funding for high profile Budget initiatives, working on changes to primary or secondary legislation, and providing stewardship around the key funding settings for early learning services. Our team works closely with other Ministry teams working on curriculum, workforce development, data analysis, and payment and licensing of early learning services.
Our team has responsibility for delivering on key actions contained in the Early Learning Action Plan 2019-2029, the Government’s blueprint for improving the early learning system. Current projects include: the Early Learning Regulatory Review, the Review of Equity and Targeted Funding, and pay parity in early learning.
About the function
In this function, you will bring a solid background in thought leadership abilities and strategic advice. You will be responsible for making sure work is progressing on a day to day basis internally and with other agencies.
