Audiences are at the heart of Gallery activities, which extend from our redeveloped and expanded site in the arts and learning precinct of inner-city Auckland.Heangit?tanga: The opportunity The Installation Coordinator plays a critical function at the Gallery, leading the preparation and installation of an ambitious programme of exhibitions and installations. The Installation Coordinator contributes skills to exhibition formulation, planning, and scheduling, and coordinates closely with exhibition management and collection care departments. The Installation Coordinator supervises the Gallery's team of Technicians and engages and supervises external contractors to deliver externally and internally generated exhibitions, artist commissions, and Creative Learning Centre installations. The function is also responsible for ensuring safe work facilities, equipment, and practices. As necessary, the Installation Coordinator facilitates the movement, packing, transportation, and storage of loaned and collection-located works of art. He k?rero m?u: About you You will have strong planning, team management and communication skills, and the proven capability to organise and manage installation projects to completion. You will have a high level of skill in analysing and evaluating technical needs and applying creative solutions to achieve agreed goals and deadlines. You will also be able to demonstrate excellent judgement, decisiveness and strong problem-solving skills. Museum/gallery practice and an knowledge of preventive conservation principles for artworks is a significant advantage.
