Job Offer: 22/053 Private Secretary (Advisory Media):Job description:Job DescriptionType: PermanentHours: Full time Job location: Wellington Business Group : Ministerial Resourcing Branch: Information and Knowledge Services income: $77,160 – $104,393 » A combined function for a person savvy in politics and media » Opportunities for professional growth » Exciting and ever-changing working environment Hon Meka Whaitiri MP for Ikaroa-R?whiti, Minister of Customs, Minister for Veterans, Associate Minister of Agriculture (Animal Welfare) and Associate Minister of Statistics is seeking a media savvy person to fill the function of Private Secretary (Advisory/Media) to assist in advancing a progressive work programme. The function involves both communicating and delivering a media strategy as well as providing advice where political risk is taken into account. this function involves working very closely with the Minister where trust and commitment are integral to success. If you value the chance to contribute to and support the Executive Government, this could be the function for you. As someone who is skilled in managing strong working relationships, you will have the opportunity to use your skills in gathering information from a variety of sources on behalf of the Minister. You will be involved in keeping the Minister informed in relation to their areas of responsibility and answering any questions that arise. With the support of the Prime Minister's Office, you will manage and respond to requests for information as set out in the Official Information Act. This will be your opportunity to draft and publish media material which communicates clearly the Minister's goals and vision; ensuring Information technology is in line with the Government's overarching communication strategy. As the Minister's advisor, you will become familiar with and provide advice and support on the House programme and the passage of legislation. To be prosperous in the function you will have a sound knowledge of Government and public service protocols and processes, good analysis and problem-solving skills as well as strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
