We are working towards achieving carbon neutrality for many public sector organisations from 2025. This initiative is co-led by the Ministry for the Environment, the Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment and the Energy Efficiency & Conservation Agency. We are seeking for an practiced Senior Policy Analyst to join our high-performing and welcoming CNGP team which sits in the Climate Strategy and Mitigation directorate. Key areas of focus for this function include: » Scoping and leading the next phase of CNGP policy development » Engaging with CNGP organisations to get their input to the development and implementation of CNGP policy » Ensuring CNGP policy feeds into and reflects developments in other policy areas, such as the second emissions reduction plan (ERP2) » drafting Ministerial briefs, Cabinet papers, Regulatory Impact Statements and discussion documents » providing leadership abilities and coaching/mentoring others to build capcapability within the team You will work closely with teams in the Climate Business Group, but also work closely with other agencies, iwi, business, sector body organisations and multiple stakeholders. This is an opportunity for you to utilise your policy skills and play a key function in a high-profile and impactful policy area. We are seeking for Somebody with practice in policy development with strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. You will be adept at explaining complex technical work to non-technical audiences and be comfortable providing advice to senior management and Ministers.
