Are you looking for a function where you can further develop and hone your HR expertise? Te Papa is seeking someone who is ready to step up to an HR Advisor function. If you enjoy working in a diverse, dynamic and creative organisation read on.
The function is wide-ranging from supporting the end to end recruitment, position management, assisting with Payroll and building the capcapability of leaders within your assigned portfolio. Information technology has a good balance of what you’ll be familiar with and a chance to provide advice, service and solutions to leaders at all levels. This is a great step if you are looking to build a career in HR.
You’ll work within a really practiced team that is bringing innovation to HR practice. Ideally you’ll be a great and building networks and establishing relationships. You’ll have a good eye for detail, a love of process and systems and a passion for advising our people managers to succeed in their functions. To be prosperous in this function you will have the following:
   » significant tertiary qualification or equivalent practice in human resources
   » Two or more years practice in providing HR administrative, co-ordination or entry level HR Advisory support preferably including practice with the end to end recruitment process
   » Good operating expertise of contemporary HR practice and significant legislation
   » Operating expertise and practice working with Managers and staff at all levels to develop trust and credibility
   » Demonstrated capability to develop innovative and effective solutions to various HR issues
   » Technical and analytical capability to produce HR data reports that help leaders made decisions
   » An inclusive approach that supports the principles of working in a bi-cultural environment
   » Maintain confidentiality at all times particularly with respect to individual privacy issues and HR files
   » A best practice and streamlined approach to administrative tasks, including the identification of areas for improvement and consistency to maximise results for delivery
   » expertise of and practice using payroll and HR databases
   » Excellent communication expertise, both written and verbal
   » Highly effective planning and organisational expertise, including time management and prioritising work
   » Strong level of expertise and competence of Microsoft Office applications
The starting income for this position will be between $70,700 to $82,000 pa with further room for progression through the band. Offers will be made within the range to reflect the expertise and practice offered by the candidate and those required of the function, and internal relativities with other employees.
