About our group and team You will be part of the wider Information Technology group. Information Technology provides the Ministry with the support Information technology needs to plan, deliver, use and maintain a range of Information technology Systems. ICT Strategy, Planning, and Architecture (SPA) work with the Ministry and education sector to ensure clear alignment and connection between business strategy, digital strategy, and digital solution design. We have recently undertaken a review of our current workforce and have identified a number of functions we need to fill to ensure that our strong delivery commitment is continued at its high standard and as a result of this We are seeking for an Enterprise Architect to join the team. The prosperous candidate will be involved in significant digital initiatives that will have the capability to transform the way the New Zealand Education System is supported and operated, making a material difference for all New Zealanders. About you located in Wellington, you will be a permanent member of the ICT Strategy, Planning, and Architecture team. As an Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for developing technology strategy and architecture for the New Zealand Education System. You will bring the following: » broad practice in Application Architecture, in particular in a Senior Architect capacity leading technology strategies whilst balancing business and technology requirements » In depth expertise of a broad range of technologies and tools » Significant practice in analysis, design and development » A qualification in either Zachman or TOGAF » broad expertise of relational databases, software, languages, tools and middleware » Highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication expertise, with the capability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships » Capacity to work under pressure to ensure that critical timeframes are met » Strong leadership abilities expertise; you will be able to influence, persuade as well as resolve conflicts » The capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi You’ll be responsible for: » Strategic Planning for the business areas by working with Business Owners to understand current state and future goals » Assisting in the evaluation of software products and tools » Providing leadership abilities and mentoring Are you ready to make a difference?
