Te W?nanga Aronui o T?maki Makau Rau Auckland University of Technology is Aotearoa New Zealand’s most contemporary university, with a unique profile reflecting our history and innovative approaches to teaching, learning and research. AUT University’s School of Clinical Sciences seeks a 0.4 FTE M?ori Midwifery Liaison and Student Support/Clinical Educator, starting ASAP till 31 March 2024.
We require an practiced M?ori midwife with a current APC. You will be expected to share your skills with the students with a ‘wrap around’ approach, facilitate student learning, encourage problem-solving, effective participation within the team and reflective practice within the student group; give encouraging feedback to students and assess individual student progress. You will be expected to facilitate aspects of learning and teaching across the 4 years of the midwifery programme under the guidance of the Programme and course leaders. You will also be given the opportunity to provide clinical skills within curriculum development, interprofessional learning and teaching.
You will be located out of the Toi-Ohomai | Te P?kenga Mokoia hub, Rotorua. You will be required to uphold relationships with mana whenua, and key midwifery stakeholders, establish and manage effective communication and develop a strategy for developing new clinical placements as well as reviewing current ones. You will also be expected to work closely with the Head of Department and Te ara ? Hine Tapu ora liaison team. Programme and Course leaders in BHSc (Midwifery) programme schedule each student into a clinical timetable, facilitating tutorials and local simulation/skills sessions. An eye for detail is a must for this job as Information technology involves meticulous attention to detail as well as dealing with multiple changing events and requests.

Annual income range on offer: $69,000 – $91,000 – will be pro-rated (appointment level and income commensurate with skills and practice)
