Right now, we have a great internal secondment opportunity for a project manager to play a key function in supporting the prosperous delivery of Nelson's major events, including the largest music festival in the South Island, cultural events such askapa haka nationalcompetitions and international sport fixtures. We are offering this as a fixed termopportunity for up to 12 months, while we work through the continuing implications fromCovid-19on the local events sector, as we still have key major events scheduledall overspring and summer. this function is a great mix of working in partnership with event organisers and partners, providing project management oversight and hands on event delivery. From identifying and assessing risks, through to negotiating contracts, and collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure a smooth customer journey, this function has Information technology all! Your outstanding communication and relationship management expertise will be essential to engage with our partners, along with your expertise of Council processes and your capability to organise and juggle a high and changeable workload. On a personal level, you will be an outgoing, energetic person who is highly motivated and self-managing with solid project management practice. You will have been prosperous in managing projects delivered by others and be able to employ appropriate project management techniques to achieve strategic project results. For this fixed term function, your project management practice, risk management andorganisational expertise are important to us as well as your significant majorevents practice.
