About the Trust
T?aropaki Trust was born from the unity of 279 M?ori land Owners in 1952. The original owners of the T?aropaki whenua believed that they could achieve more by working together. They amalgamated their family lands under an overarching vision to develop the land to provide opportunities for our wh?nau.
Today, T?aropaki Trust is an Ahu Whenua Trust under the auspices of Te Ture Whenua M?ori. There are more than 2,700 Owners, a mix of individuals, Wh?nau Trusts and Kaitiaki Trusts, all descended from the original Owners. The Trust is a kaitiaki for ancestral taonga and manages complex business interests in the food and energy sectors, with assets valued at around $1 billion.

The Role
As the Health and Safety Manager you will be responsible for leading the development and roll out of the Trust's health and safety roadmap, including a critical risk management framework and associated systems and processes.
Additional duties will include:
   » Developing and implementing a fit for purpose health and safety roadmap
   » Manage all safety management activities e.g. investigations, reporting, assurance
   » Coach and support kaimahi
   » Champion safety excellence across T?aropaki
   » Establish strong reporting processes and culture
   » Actively promoting the Trust's values and interests
   » Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, effectively communicating technical information
   » Share technical expertise and best practices with others to enhance their skills and capabilities
   » Actively promote the Trust's values and interests

What You'll need to be sucessful
   » Recognised tertiary health and safety qualification
   » Substantial operational experience
   » Deep experience in contemporary health and safety risk management tools and frameworks
   » Prior expertise in development and implementation of a health and safety roadmap
   » A track record of making quality decisions within your area of responsibility
   » A proven ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, navigate issues and solve problems
   » Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to build and leverage relationships and partner with colleagues and others across the industry to achieve shared outcomes
