Information technology improves the lives of 60,000 people a year through a wide variety of services, providing emergency care and much more. About the function: Reporting to the City Mission Divisional Committee of The Anglican Care Trust Board Canterbury/ Westland, the City Missioner (the Mission's Chief Executive agent) is responsible for leadership abilities and the overall management of the Mission. Working with the Committee, the City Missioner will develop the strategic direction of the Mission, along with having responsibility for its financial stewardship. As ?the face and voice' of the Mission, key components of the function include public relations, fundraising, community engagement and advocacy. The capability to understand and interpret the needs of the underprivileged, represent them and advocate on their behalf is essential to the position. The position will be focussed on the following objectives: » To provide leadership abilities of the City Mission, that will enable Information technology to undertake social services according to its mission statement : a Christian Social Service helping those in need and working towards a just society. » To manage all City Mission resources, including staff, volunteers and budgets. » To understand the needs of those in our society who are socially and economically underprivileged, irrespective of race, creed or culture, and to undertake advocacy on their behalf. » To demonstrate respect and knowledge of Christian values. » To understand, respect and uphold the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. expertise & practice: We seek candidates with: » Mana and personal presence, and the capability to connect heart and mind, committed to serving the community, with a heart for people. » High energy levels, a positive attitude and high levels of personal integrity. » A proven capability to provide leadership abilities and a clear sense of direction to others – a strategic mindset that can be pragmatically applied. » A track record of success in developing and implementing strategy and delivery of results across an organisation. » Strengths in leading motivated and passionate teams. » Values-driven behaviour and practice leading a values-driven culture, with a focus on hauora. » practice in leading change and embedding innovative practices into the organisation. » practice and capability in making and implementing hard decisions, and conflict resolution. » Proven senior executive management practice, with commercial acumen, a prudent approach and a focus on building a sustainable future for an organisation. » A personal style that builds credibility and constructive relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders from across the church, community and business sectors. » Outstanding communication expertise, both verbal and written plus confidence in speaking to the public. » A commitment to the bicultural partnership of the Treaty of Waitangi and of tikanga. » practice developing relationships with mana whenua and/or M?ori community organisations. » The capability to think from the theological basis of Christian values and understand the theological underpinning for social services. » A significant Tertiary Qualification.
