We are looking for staff to assist with our upcoming harvest, which start around the 20th of January and will last until the end of March/beginning of April Our location is in Irwell, between Leeston and Lincoln, approximately 25km south of Christchurch. Personal Profile: - Confident, energetic and self-motivated, preferably with an agricultural background but not essential as all training will be provided - English speaking effective communicator who enjoys the challenges of a busy and demanding work environment - Able to consistently sustain high standards under pressure, delivering both quality and quantity - Physically fit, amiable, enthusiastic and positive - Hold a current full driving licence with reliable transport to and from work - New Zealand resident or hold a valid working permit, with IRD and bank account. - Vaccine pass Listing description Primary tasks within the harvest department: - Sickling of Wheat, Barley, Oat and Linseed trials - Weeding and removal of off-types from trials - Assisting with combine harvest - Threshing and cleaning of trials - Occasional tractor work and other tasks as required - Shed work Due to the flexible nature of the industry, you must be able to sometimes work extended hours including weekends, when required, or potentially have days off or shorter days depending on the weather. The range of hours may be between 40 to 55 hours per week. Payment is fortnightly at $21 per hour + holiday pay and overtime is paid if worked. Accommodation is not provided but there is some available locally and there are 3 free campsites nearby.
