Council is committed to build enduring relationships with whanau, hapu and iwi to support our vision of ?Our Northland – together we thrive’. this function is to be an advocate for M?ori within council on freshwater management matters, with a particular focus on developing freshwater policy. The function will involve working broadly with M?ori communities and organisations. Your work across the regional council and within Maori communities in Te Taitokerau will help strengthen and build positive relationships located on knowledge and communication. You will be able to resolve issues and provide specialised advice and training to council staff as Information technology relates to M?ori freshwater matters.
Do you have what Information technology takes?
We are seeking for someone who can bring the following to our diverse talent pool:
   » A degree or equivalent practice in significant discipline
   » Sound knowledge of tikanga M?ori and of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its principles
   » Minimum two years practice in a similar or related function
   » Previous practice working with M?ori in Te Taitokerau
   » An knowledge of M?ori freshwater issues and values
   » An knowledge and practice of local government operations is advantageous
   » Have practice thinking critically and working collaboratively with others to develop solutions
   » An excellent communicator and influencer
   » practice in the use of Microsoft applications especially Word, Excel, and Outlook
   » Current New Zealand Driver’s Licence
