Te ?huatunga a te t?ranga/About the function
As a Pae Tukutuku you will take pride in delivery of exceptional service to Court Users and your tima by providing quality information to ensure timely progression of applications and cases. Your relationship expertise enable you to educate, inform and give advice to wh?nau so they feel empowered about accessing the M?ori Land Court, and use and management of their whenua. Your colleagues value you as a team player known for solid judgement and high accuracy in your work.
This varied function encompasses: record management; research and analysis of evidence to support applications and for drafting submissions and information to the Court; recording and producing an accurate and timely transcription of Court hearings; and performing courtroom clerk tasks. You’ll be supported to grow your knowledge of our processes, significant legislation and Acts.
The Pae Tukutuku will work as part of either the following:
   » Court Services Team that is responsible for delivering quality information and customer services relating to the timely management of applications and case progression
   » Advisory Team responsible for providing education, information and advisory services including the management of general enquiries via telephone and counter provision of significant M?ori Land Court information / documentation about use and management of M?ori land
   » Land Registry Team that is responsible for the registration of land titles, records integrity and storage including data entry in the M?ori Land Information System and P?taka Whenua

Key Job responsibilities:
   » Information, Education and Advisory Services formed from an knowledge and knowledge of legislation and Court processes
   » Information and Records Management in our P?taka Whenua digital system
   » Consult and contact with parties / counsel / judiciary to determine case characteristics and develop proposals to progress cases
   » Clerking of the court and judicial support services
   » Recording and Transcription of Court proceedings
   » Maintain and preserve the Court Record

To be prosperous in the function you’ll need the following:

   » Excellent written and verbal communication expertise

   » Enjoy working in a reactive as well as a proactive environment
   » An knowledge of Ng? Kaupapa Maori
   » NCEA level 3 or significant work practice
   » Some travel will be required on occasion as part of the function
practice in using a digital workflow system would be strong asset in this function. Competence in Te Reo M?ori and a NZ driver’s license is valued.

income range: The remuneration band for this function is $50,128 to $70,768 – while the appointing income will be located on expertise and practice, we are willing to pay higher in the band to attract strong candidates into this function.
