Offer: General Manager Manahautu:stephtawhaJob description:Job DescriptionHe angit?tanga: The opportunityWe seek a visionary, passionate leader who will be responsible for the growth and development of the Mangere Mountain Education Centre (MMEC) , an established facility located on the eastern slopes of the Maunga. You will be charged with developing and delivering quality education programmes that are built on a strong knowledge of Te Pane O Mataoho (Mangere Mountain) its geology and Maaori history. You will lead engagement with schools, local communities, Iwi and local Marae ensuring there are strong continuing relationships that benefit all groups. You will manage the day to day operations of the Centre including critical fiscal responsibilities, health and safety and leading a small onsite team of permanent employees and volunteers. Finally, you will be reporting to the Mangere Mountain Education Trust (MMET) Board providing executive and governance reports and documentation on the progress of initiatives. He k?rero m?u: About you You have a passion for M?ori history and in-depth knowledge of Te Ao Maaori and competency in Te Reo Maaori me oona tikanga. You have strong connections and knowledge of Mangere, relationships with Iwi and local communities, schools and Marae. You have a proven educational background located around building prosperous curriculum implementation. You are confident in managing the day to day operations of a centre, managing key financial responsibilities and, staff management, H&S, reporting and governance responsibilities. You will have managed a prosperous team, driving performance and culture. You will have the support of MMET, Te Waiohua and Auckland Council to ensure the immediate and long-term success of the centre. You can help deliver the MMET vision that the Centre should be the leading education and visitor centre that offers a M?ori world view for Auckland. Information technology combines high quality discovery-led out-of classroom learning practices, with events and activities that serve regional schools, combined with domestic and international visitors to the Auckland Region.
