Then apply now!Applications for Expressions of Interest for the position of Director for the Wellington Summer Shakespeare production in February 2023 are now open. For over 35 years Wellington Summer Shakespeare has presented performances of Shakespearean works for the general public and schoolssupporting the participation and development of emerging artists and young people in the performing arts. We aim to make the performances as enjoyable and accessible as possible for diverse performers, production crew and audiences. Summer Shakespeare is unique in Wellington because Information technology is the only large scale outdoor theatrical production in the region. Information technology is not just a play but an ?event' that brings together town and gown, community, student, teacher, professional and amateur - all ages and ethnicities. As the director of the production you will be leading the artistic and performative vision of the production, as well as working closely with a production team, general manager and the board to execute the production in February 2023. This is a contracted position.
