Our client is looking for a Senior Estimator to join their transport team have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Estimator to join their busy team based in Wellington. With a strong construction pipeline in the Civil Construction sector, our business is well-positioned to continue on this growth trajectory. The successful applicant will be expected to add value to an experienced construction team with estimating expertise across a range of integrated construction and maintenance projects. As part of the role, you will be required to: » Assist in the development of relationships with internal and external customers, providing advice and solutions. » Promote tendering and associated reporting procedures to ensure a consistent approach across all business operations. Assist in the standardization of estimating practices. » Assisting with the implementation of Project Management Office procedures and processes » Contribute to the compilation of tender risk and opportunity registers » Coordinate pre-letting negotiations and respond to clarification requests. » Hand over key tender documentation and brief the assigned project manager following contract award. » Aid project management roles across the business. » Actively mentor staff fulfilling the role of an assistant estimator. Assign tasks that contribute to the development of key tendering functions, including both price and non-price attributes. To be successful in the role, you will need to have: » Ideally, you will be an estimator with a minimum of 5 years of experience involved in projects and tendering » Proven experience in bid management within a major contracting environment » Strong commercial acumen » Proven experience in the pricing process within a major contracting environment » A high degree of computer literacy including the use of estimating software (preferably Candy or Benchmark) » High level of written and verbal communications skills » The ability to work closely within a great team » A formal tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying » You will have an organized and systematic approach to your work, with strong planning skills This is an amazing opportunity to join a company that has a well-known name not only in Wellington but right throughout New Zealand!
