About our group and team Te Pae Aronui Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people. The Provider Services team is part of Learning Support Delivery. About this function We have a vacancy in our team for a permanent Senior Advisor. The Provider Services team funds and supports education services and initiatives that help children and young people stay engaged in learning. Some examples include the Attendance Service, Alternative Education, Activity Centres, Teen Parent Units, the Boarding Allowance, and education provision in Oranga Tamariki care and youth justice facilities. If you are passionate about enabling our children and young people to enjoy and achieve educational success, come join our team. About you Your key previous practice will be in an operational policy or service delivery function, leading the planning, implementation, and monitoring of initiative(s). To be prosperous in the function you will be skilled at communicating complex ideas and information and be able to work collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders. We will rely on you to design processes that align with initiative objectives and wider Learning Support Delivery and Ministry of Education objectives and results. You will also offer: » practice in contract management and procurement of services » practice working in Government or the sector » a passion for working in the at-risk provision space and a high interest and or practice with education provision in Oranga Tamariki residences » competent level of writing with attention to detail » the capability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga.
