Te ?hua o Te T?runga – The nature of the function
The Pasifika Engagement Lead is responsible for leading Pasifika community engagement activity during the planning, design, and implementation phase of a large, unique programme within ACC.
this function will focus on partnering with Pasifika communities to identify how their needs are met within the design of the programme. This will be achieved through building relationships with our Pasifika partners and managing their participation in design activity all over the entirety of the design and implementation of the programme.
this function will work in the implementation team to ensure Pasifika peoples’ views are effectively represented, specific Pasifika approaches are effectively adopted, and desired Pasifika results are understood, ensuring we deliver on the commitment to design with our key equity partners.
Key activities will include the following:
   » Plan, develop and lead Pasifika peoples and community engagement activity for the implementation of the programme
   » Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with Pasifika entities, Boards, Community groups, and Advisory groups
   » Lead the establishment and implementation of the Pasifika Advisory Panel
   » Establish and support key relationships with Pasifika partners to support the design, implementation, and monitoring of the programme ensuring Information technology will deliver positive results for Pasifika peoples and communities
   » Guide the Programme on engagement protocols when engaging with Pasifika peoples to ensure cultural safety, and appropriate and responsive engagement activity
   » Bring the voice of our Pasifika partners back to NZIIS to ensure we understand and are delivering to the needs of Pasifika peoples and communities
Ng? tino P?kenga/Wheako – expertise and practice required:
   » Demonstrated practice in engagement with Pasifika peoples, including established networks in Pasifika communities and entities
   » A sound knowledge of Pasifika culture, values, political and social systems
   » Strong personal commitment to engaging Pasifika people and communities, is essential
   » practice in application of te Tiriti o Waitangi to mahi is desirable
   » A proven track record in prosperous partnering to support improved results for Pasifika peoples
