The Health Quality & Safety Commission (the Commission) is seeking to recruit a community development manager in the advance care planning team on a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2024. We are seeking for a dynamic person who is truly passionate about making a difference in the community.
The advance care planning and clinical communication programme (the Programme) was established in 2017 and is tasked with supporting the twenty district health boards and other health care providers with delivering person and wh?nau centric healthcare planning and delivery.
The focus of our programme’s mahi is to increase the access and acceptcapability of advance care planning for all New Zealanders, particularly for M?ori as tangata whenua. We have a strong commitment to cultural safety that increases health equity and supports a health system that works for all communities.
This position will specifically manage the design, implementation and change management for our new local M?ori champion programme and the community activator programme. These programmes are aimed of a sustainable and enduring team of community activators and M?ori advance care planning champions across the motu and increasing the number of people who know about, understand and are engaging in advance care planning in the community.
The prosperous candidate will have had significant practice working with M?ori wh?nau and M?ori service providers and practice in building stakeholder trust and confidence, including but not limited to, M?ori and Pacific People. You will thrive on engaging and galvanising people in communities to support others.
You will have practice in prosperously managing projects, including managing multiple tasks and priorities and have excellent interpersonal expertise with the capability to foster good relationships through empathy, connection and partnership.
You will be a self-starter who is comfortable working independently as you will to be working alongside a dynamic and energetic team of people all working remotely.
The Health Quality & Safety Commission is a stand-alone Crown entity with a Board responsible to the Minister of Health. The Commission is responsible for assisting providers across the whole health and discapability sector, both private and public, to improve service safety and quality and therefore results for all those who use these services in New Zealand.
