Work involves using ladders. Information technology is physically demanding work so you must be confident in your base level of fitness to apply. Any previous orchard, farm work or labouring practice would be an advantage but is not essential. As you will be working up a ladder, you must be comfortable with heights . You need to be fit and healthy! The work is quite repetitive so you will need the capability to self-motivate to achieve goals and manage yourself when the work is physically demanding. Temperatures in Central Otago can be extreme. The capability to work independently will be an asset to your application. Thinning will commence around early October and will continue until late December.this function is around 40 hours a week but is weather dependent. You may be required to work Saturdays if the weather is unfavourable during the week. A normal workday will be between 8.00am and 5.00pm. This may vary depending on the workload. Fixed-term work from 12th October till late December. You will need to provide bank and IRD details. Workers are paid a minimum of $21.20 per hour plus 8% holiday pay. Accommodation is available on the orchard, located near Roxburgh. Cost is $17 per night per person in a twin share room. Full facilities provided - kitchen, laundry, bathroom.. Other accommodation options are available if you are self-contained.
