Job Opportunity: Pou Takawaenga:Job description:Job DescriptionHe angit?tanga: The opportunityIt is an exciting time for our organisation due to the establishment of a M?ori results Delivery unit in our Connected Communities directorate, responsible for library and learning services, arts, culture and heritage and community delivery and impact. The Pou Takawaenga function sits within the M?ori Participation and Partnership team, and your contribution to projects, programmes and services will help to ensure that we: – Increase our impact through relationships and partnerships – Provide quality advice to staff that engage with mana whenua and mataawaka – Develop and champion high value projects that give effect to wh?nau and tamariki wellbeing through our facilities and services – Build our capacity to work in a M?ori centred way. As a new team, you and your colleagues will develop a work programme and strategy guided by Auckland Council's M?ori results framework Kia Ora T?maki Makaurau, in particular Kia ora te wh?nau while also contributing to other priority areas. You will work to develop high trust relationships with mana whenua, M?ori communities and kaupapa M?ori organisations to ensure M?ori aspiration is at the heart of what we do. He k?rero m?u: About you You are able to negotiate and influence across a wide variety of stakeholders. You will be valued for sharing m?tauranga M?ori in the workplace and have a background of actively working in and negotiating multiple knowledge systems. With strong cross-cultural competency, you'll have the capability to work at a community level and a commitment to bi-cultural ways of working. You'll have practice engaging with M?ori communities and iwi - knowledge M?ori community and mana whenua priorities, and have worked across programmes with cultural, community or social results. expertise in co-design, community-led development, facilitation, placemaking, leading and supporting projects and policy development will be highly valued.
