About Wigram Hotel
Situated next to the Air Force Museum of New Zealand, Wigram Hotel is one of Christchurch's most historic venues. The hotel building was built for RNZAF agents in 1938 for No.1 agent's mess, and Information technology is now a boutique hotel with 28 upscale guest rooms, Harvard Bar & Bistro, and well-appointed function venues including St. Mark's chapel.

Job tasks and responsibilities
   » Work at the reception desk and assist with everyday operational needs of Front Office department.
   » Greeting guests and delivering luggage to guest rooms sometimes when needed.
   » Performing Check-ins and Check-outs
   »practice in handling reservations is must
   » Accurately posting charges, guest billing processes and cash handling
   » Assisting guests with in-person and telephone inquiries
   » To assist in dealing with customer complaints in an effective and courteous manner, providing or seeking solutions in as quickly as possible
   » Follow checklist and procedures as requested and complete shift with accurate handover. 
   » Take initiative to ensure that interactions with guests are positive and productive.
   » superviseing all routes of reservations to ensure that room bookings are made and recorded accurately.
   » To ensure that all reservations are cancellations are processes efficiently
   » Assist in giving directions to Housekeeping team (Our Housekeeping team is outsourced)
   » Maintain the general upkeep of front office and hotel public areas.
   » Assist F&B team with Function & Event as & when needed sometimes
   » To undertake office tasks, including correspondence, emails, filing and switchboard to ensure smooth running of the reception area
   » To adhere to fire and safety procedures and in the evacuation process in the event of a fire.
   » Perform other tasks as required.
Preferable minimum requirements
   » Previous practice in Hotel Front Office or equivalent is necessary
   » Completed high school certificate or equivalent
   » Positive attitude, excellent listening and communication expertise
   » Commitment and passionate in delivering a high level of customer service
   » Excellent grooming and uniform standards
   » capability to work well in a team and confident to work on your own 
   » Multitasking and organizational capability
   » Able to work on rostered shift including weekends and public holidays
   » Competent level of Information technology proficiency
   » candidates for this position must have valid work visa. No visa sponsorship will be offered for this function
This is a full-time function with minimum 30 hours and possibility to do more hours depending on the business needs, your practice and commitment. Reception timings are 7am to 10pm. The morning shifts are scheduled from 7 am till 3 pm and afternoon shifts are scheduled from 2:30 pm till 9 pm and sometimes till 10 pm.
