Senior and Principal Policy AdvisorsJob location:Wellington Wellington Central Work Type: Permanent » » » »$100k-$160k income »Permanent functions – Varied Topic Areas »Exposure to key Policy Projects The function • Key functions across several business units leading components of complex and impactful Regulatory and Legislative policy issues. • Provide detailed advice to assist Policy Management, Ministers, and others across the organisation. • Be a part of critical decision making on complex issues, which relate to the delivery of a number of key pieces of policy that will impact all Kiwi’s. tasks •Contribute to the enhancement of the overall capcapability of the business unit, and the wider Policy Group. • Deliver high quality specialist and analytical policy advice. • Provide mentoring and support the professional development of less practiced Advisors and Analysts. • Good knowledge of the current government context, policy agenda and priorities. • Demonstrates adaptcapability and strategic foresight as the needs and priorities of the Minister and the Ministry change. • Develop and maintain productive and collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. • Work on complex policy programmes and provide suggestions and solutions contributing to improvement results for New Zealand. Skills & practice • Highly developed advisory skills and be keen to developing & maintain skills and knowledge in own area of skills. • Comprehensive practice at a Senior or Principal level in the policy space. • Good knowledge of the Machinery of Government. • Able to use policy project management processes to lead and manage projects effectively. • A significant tertiary qualification is desirable.
