Information technology is our function to ensure that sector leaders and the communities in which they operate have access to the skills, programmes and resources that will allow our children and young people to reach their full potential. Education Adviser – M?ori Engagement The Education Adviser – M?ori Engagement sits within our Pathways Team (which contributes to strengthening our learning support delivery model for all), and aims to support the individual student pathway for M?ori children and young people. this function has a particular focus on supporting those who are disengaged from education including through chronic absenteeism, exclusion and justice and provides an emphasis on relationship building, re-engagement support and pathway provision. The adviser ensures M?ori children and young people, parents and wh?nau, iwi, and employer’s perspectives are fully considered and embedded in programmes of work, new initiatives, change and implementation to deliver education success for all. About the person We are seeking for a person who can: » relate to and understand the aspirations and needs of M?ori children and young people, parents and wh?nau, iwi, businesses and employers in the region » use research and data from a wide variety of sources, and report, analyse and evaluate to identify and respond to priorities for M?ori children and young people » work in partnership with parents, families, wh?nau, businesses and employers to understand their needs and provide a foundation for education success » identify and support other agencies and providers to ensure M?ori children and young people are able to engage and participate in education.
