The Health Quality Intelligence team plays a key function in the Commission’s responsibility to improve New Zealand’s health services. Its purpose is to make the Commission stronger and more effective through being the acexpertised NZ leaders in measuring, evaluating, and commenting on the quality of health services. This focus of this function is to provide day to day operational delivery of aspects of the Commission’s health quality and safety measurement including data management, data collection, collation, analysis, presentation, visualisation, and reporting. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the complexities of measuring quality in healthcare and maintain a rigorous standard of logic when seeking effective solutions to deal with difficult problems. Your capability to be flexible, innovative and progress work in a positive and valuable manner will allow you to achieve group and organisational goals. You will be a self-starter, unintimidated by ambiguity and steadfastly push yourself and others for results. You will probably have two or more years’ practice as an analyst since graduation, and you will definitely have very strong analytical expertise and a comfort in working with large data sets such as national collections, registries or clinical audit sets. The Health Quality and Safety Commission is a stand-alone Crown entity with a Board responsible to the Minister of Health. The Commission is responsible for assisting providers across the whole health and discapability sector, both private and public, to improve service safety and quality and therefore results for all those who use these services in New Zealand.
