Regional Social Development Manager
Secondment or fixed term opportunity to February 2023 (with potential to extend until June 23)

The function of Regional Social Development Manager opens a great development opportunity for someone either internally or externally to work with the Ministry of Social Development Regional Office working alongside a great Public Service regional team.
This could be a great opportunity for Somebody within Ministry of Social Development Nelson Region or externally amongst our Iwi, Public Service and Community Partners to join MSD / Public Service both to develop their own capcapability and gain knowledge of our key service delivery programmes and aspirations, whilst in turn helping to lift the knowledge and capcapability of the regional team.
The function of the Regional Social Development Manager, reporting to the Ministry of Social Development Commissioner is a key pro-active function working on initiatives to better support the community we serve.
Key focus area being
   » Building and maintaining significant working relationships with Iwi / Maori.
   » Social Sector partnerships and commissioning.
   » Leading MSD Regional Social Development Priorities.
   » Community Protection Framework, delivering on MSD lead for Welfare including community connectors and regional welfare partners.
   » Partnering / fostering / supporting key regional cross social sector forums (Housing, Community Development, Family/Whanau Wellbeing).
Previous practice you will bring with you to the function
   » Strong knowledge of government processes and direction.
   » A sound knowledge of commercial/business strategy with the capability implement.
   » Proven practice in working with community networks and agencies.
   » Sound expertise in Microsoft products.
   » An excellent eye for detail with clear verbal and written communication expertise.
   » Demonstrated practice in prosperously managing projects.
The MSD regional team are inclusive and supportive of one another with a proactive induction process and great internal support to assist someone transitioning into the function.
This could be a key opportunity for someone who is in turn passionate about the community they are part of, someone looking to work inside a key strategic social development function to further help improve the lives and wellbeing of not only our clients but our wider community.
