About this function:
As a result of the incumbent moving to a new function, we are now looking for a very good Projects Manager to supervise the significant number of projects underway, plus manage the team of BAs who roam across the many projects underway at any point. The key responsibilities are to focus on the digital strategy, and supporting the business to build new capabilities and business improvement, and ensure all projects are delivered on time, and in alignment with company objectives.
You'll be required to develop and execute a forward plan, and provide a roadmap for all project effectiveness and success. This will include both the ?hard? expertise of project management overview, as well as the ?soft? expertise of team management and SLT liaison to ensure strategic and operational needs are met.
You will also be the primary contact for external and stakeholder interaction on projects, vendor liaison, and oversight. And over-viewing all projects underway, whilst not in a reporting relationship, you will be required to be across all internal PMs, and manage those relationships effectively.
About you:
We're after a seasoned Senior Project Manager who has worked across a portfolio of projects at a strategic level, or has PMO practice withing a large programme of work. Information technology would be ideal if you had consultancy practice, as this function is a mix of external and internal stakeholders, many of whom fall outside the technical aspects of projects. So you'll need highly developed interpersonal expertise and be a strong communicator, be as comfortable dealing at a Board level as the "shop floor", and be commercially savvy om top of your obvious technical expertise.
Tertiary qualifications plus PM qualifications such as Prince2 or similar would be expected, although more important is a track record of managing multiple projects and staff management.
