We are seeking for a dairy farm adjunct to help out on our 700 cow farm just north of the cool little township of Oamaru (15min drive away). We are seeking for an energetic individual, who's keen to work hard alongside our practiced friendly team of 3 others. Information technology would be valuable if you have had some type of previous farming practice, however we have have put no practice required as attitude is more important (especially at 5am in the morning!). Dairy farming covers a range of tasks, so you'll need to be flexible and happy to pitch in with what's required on a day to day basis and also have a reasonable level of fitness. We are happy for you to lgain on the job as long as you are committed to staying for 3-4 months as Information technology does take a while to train new people up. We have a furnished accommodation unit with electricity and internet access to rent for $150/week. The position involves milking cows through a herringbone shed, shifting cows on a 2 wheel motorbike and other farm jobs (might including shifting temporary fences, weed work, potentially tractor work if you had those expertise already etc).
