It’s a locally owned plumbing business, they’re small in stature and big in skills, with around 20 staff. Known for providing quality workmanship across the Bay of Plenty and Waikato regions their business is currently 75% commercial and 25% residential – with potential for growth in both these markets. The Owner and team are great, their systems are organized, they’ve got excellent skills in many of the team – and it’s a good place to work, everyone enjoys the banter. You will work closely with the Owner – who is thinking about his exit strategy – to continually drive this business forward. They have identified several areas of growth for this business and we’re looking for someone to lead the team through this. You’ve got to be good with the people; you’ll lead business development and be engaged with customers everyday and be an inspiring leader for the staff. This is a true general management position that covers: » superviseing workflow, the Operations team and the job management system, Simpro » Develop and implement business development opportunities – with a focus on growth » Lead the business with people and culture at the core » Training and developing the team » Full financial P&L responsibility The right person for this function will be a charismatic leader who is either proven in business growth or is on a pathway to management who can prove they have the potential to lead a business. Coming from the construction/plumbing industry would be advantageous, but it’s not essential. Solid business nous: an capability to lead a team, financially astute and good with staff – these are the key attributes We are seeking for.
