With Mana (pride), Mauri (energy) & Manawa (heart), ARONUI is helmed by key Iwi leaders and world-class, award-winning artists in the heart of Aotearoa's leading M?ori arts district, making this Festival a direct incentive developed, designed & driven by Mana Whenua (Iwi of the land). The conceptual framework for ARONUI is Te Wh?riki (woven mat) - supporting and weaving together the individual stories and art mediums into a complete Festival - celebrating, sharing, and inspiring artists and audiences through Indigenous arts in all their rich forms. ARONUI has a goal to become a globally renowned, leading Indigenous Arts Festival, which will see Indigenous artists from across the world travel to share their stories, their voices, and their hearts with the people. Every year we will add to our ever-growing M?ra kai (garden) by bringing together a variety of art genres to feed the hearts, minds, and Wairua of Rotorua and surrounding regions. Operationally, ARONUI is delivered by a five-person management team, headed by a Director, which is supervisen by a governing Board of Trustees (BoT). The Board sets the Kaupapa and strategy which guides the Director in programming, organisation, and delivery. The team contracts out for services (artists & performances, technical requirements, venue hire, H&S provisions, etc.) as required.We are seeking for a Marketing and Communications Lead to develop and deliver a Festival Marketing and Communications strategy for our September 2021 Festival. Position Purpose: Develop the Marketing and Communications strategy and deliver the action plan for the 2021 ARONUI Festival September 9 - 30. Contract Period: June 2021 - December 2021 6 Months Fixed Term (Flexible) with the potential to extend Job responsibilities: » Create a marketing strategy/schedule to be implemented over four months (July - Oct 2021). The month of the festival (September) and the month post-festival (October) » contact with artists to ensure all significant marketing collateral is collected » Work with the Festival Delivery Manager to confirm requirements and needs on social platforms and events » Collate, distribute all event marketing and PR for Aronui 2021 » Provide updated reports/details for social media trends and ticket sales » Update all ARONUI social media platforms » Coordinate Social media requirements and handle all relationships with media companies, platforms, and artists » Manage the full marketing budget, including the allocation of the social media boosting budget » Strive to promote Te Reo M?ori where possible Formal Appropriate qualifications: Bachelor Degree (Arts and/or Marketing and Communications) or equivalent practice of at least 5 years in the sector Position Specific Competencies & Attributes: Performance Orientation: A high performer consistently delivering to results Solutions Focused: Committed to continuous improvement Teamwork: Contributes effectively within a team providing leadership abilities where appropriate Relationships: Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship engagement and management expertise Accountcapability: Willingly takes accountcapability and engages in problem-solving Te Ao M?ori: Proficiency in Te Reo M?ori me ?na Tikanga appropriate to the function (Not required, but preferred) To be prosperous in this function, you should have excellent verbal and written communication expertise, strong presentation expertise, and expert expertise of Marketing and Communications.
