The School offers a Kaupapa M?ori Psychology minor at undergraduate level, and at graduate level a range of specialisations that lead to registration as a psychologist. The School’s offerings enable students to study Psychology with significant flexibility to tailor learning and qualifications to suit individual needs. For example Psychology can be taken as a major for the Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Sciences and Bachelor of Science – this is unlike any other university in New Zealand. Te Kura Whatu Oho Mauri offers a vibrant and dynamic research environment. And our team of academic staff specialises in areas as diverse as kaupapa M?ori psychology, community, social and health psychology, environmental psychology, clinical psychology, organisational psychology, experimental psychology, as well as cognitive and developmental psychology. Ng? k?rero m? te t?ranga – About the function We are pursuing a continuing, full-time Pukenga/Lecturer in Kaupapa M?ori Psychology. The preferred candidate will have completed (or nearly completed) a PhD and have a growing publication record related to te ao M?ori and psychology related areas. Ko wai koe? – Who are you? You will need to have the following: » An knowledge and practice of tikanga and kaupapa M?ori competencies » An emerging or proven track record of kaupapa M?ori research design and practice alongside mainstream research approaches » Evidence of capability to disseminate research in a variety of forums including te ao M?ori » Good organisation, administration and interpersonal expertise We would like the candidate to be registered, or have the capability to register, with the NZ Psychologist Board as a registered Psychologist. Prior teaching and supervision practice at a tertiary level is required. We strongly encourage candidates from our M?ori communities with the significant capabilities to apply.
