Job Opportunity: Digital Channels Outreach Manager:HainesAttractJob description:Job DescriptionTe Papa is offering a rare opportunity of a two-year fixed-term position for a Digital Channels Outreach Manager, a function that will manage a programme implementing strategic content partnerships which extend the reach and impact of Te Papa’s digital collections. Using Te Papa’s Collections Online and tools such as the Collections API (Application Programming Interface), the position works with internal subject experts and external partners to put Te Papa content and research on priority external platforms, and to evaluate the value of contributing to those platforms. Examples include Wikidata and Wikimedia, Google Cultural Institute, and GBIF, the Global Biodiversity Information Facility.This is an excellent opportunity to work with the wider digital culture and heritage sector across Aotearoa and the world, and have real impact by making Te Papa’s cultural and scientific m?tauranga and research and available to audiences across the globe. We are seeking for Somebody with the following: » broad knowledge of metadata standards and frameworks, and knowledge of cultural and natural science data at scale » consciousness and alignment with Open Access content or with the Open Access community » capability to analyse user data, extract insights, and understand impact » Familiarity with te reo M?ori/te ao M?ori, bilingual/multilingual content, and the Treaty of Waitangi » You will be audience focussed, collaborative and highly organised. » practice working in a digital function in a library, museum, archive, or information-related organisation would be an advantage Sitting in the Digital Channels team, the position is part of the Audience and Insight Directorate, which leads the design and delivery of exceptional practices for our visitors, on-floor, online and in-person. As such, the function is critical to ensuring continuing reach and impact of the Digital Museum beyond our walls. this function is a full-time (40 hours), fixed-term contract, for two years from an agreed starting date.
