The Senior Solicitor plays a critical function advising thoughtfully on complex strategic and operational commercial legal and contracting matters relating to the running of the unique ACC no fault accidental injury scheme, in one of New Zealand’s largest organisations that is serving New Zealanders every day. You will work with a range of experts right across the organisation and externally. practice in highly regulated industries and health, insurance, or Crown Entities would be an advantage. You will be confident and credible advising in a large Crown Entity. In this function, you will provide both strategic and operational commercial legal and contracting advice and will partner in a complex environment. Your collaborative and inclusive style will enable to you to work with the team as well as form many partnerships across ACC which will enable the provision of high-quality trusted advice. To succeed in this function, you’ll have the following: » Significant post qualification practice and a current New Zealand practising certificate » Proven commercial partnering, contracting and legal advisory practice » expertise of ACC, public sector legislation, and the wider system within which ACC operates preferred » Strong practice and confidence engaging, influencing and advising at senior leadership abilities levels as well as the expertise and capability to work with diverse teams and people organisation wide » High levels of customer focus, initiative, and self-motivation » Excellent interpersonal expertise and the capability to develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders » An consciousness of issues related to people with disabilities and practice working in an environment requiring cultural and social consciousness To add value to ACC in this function you’ll also bring the following: » High integrity, values, and a spirit of service » practice working with a range of technical experts with practice in highly regulated, insurance or health sectors and Crown Entities being an advantage » The capability to robustly apply public sector disciplines as well as business and commercial nous With this function comes a great opportunity to continuously improve, deliver and innovate.
