Head Barista/adjunct Manager:Job description:Head Barista/adjunct ManagerPayment: Paid Position ($23.00 plus )Job location: Mapua Region: Nelson/Abel Tasman/Golden Bay practice: practice Necessary Listing Added: 10/06/2021 The opportunity has arisen for a Head Barista/adjunct Manager to join the team at Alberta’s in Mapua. This is a long-term position, 35+ hours per week and doesn’t come up often. Situated at the popular Mapua Wharf, we are a busy day time café, serving specialty coffee, super food smoothies, gourmet milk shakes and other yummy house made drinks. All our cabinet food is made at our premises and our popular brunch menu covers vegan options, gluten and dairy free meals, and other traditional menu items such as French Toast and Egg Bene. Yes, we are all about food! (*) We require a Head Barista, who can assist the manager, with a strong history in hospitality and with attention to details. You have at least 3 years’ practice as a Barista in speciality coffee and in a high-volume environment. You have the capability to make coffee to a consistently excellent standard- especially during peak rushes. You are confident in latte art and know how to serve the perfect coffee on our “La Marzocco” espresso machine- short, you are all about coffee. Next to making the perfect cup of coffee, you need to get involved with all other aspect of front of house service, including working at the smoothie bar and the ice cream section. You must have a great and positive attitude and you must be a team player, as we like to have fun at work- after all that’s where we spend the most of our time! You are honest, reliable and able to build relationships with our customers. You have clear communication expertise and love working in a busy environment. Stock control and ordering, maintaining food safety, hygiene standards and quality control, are all part of your responsibilities. (*) You need to be able to work weekends and some public holidays and are required to start early in the morning.
