Offer: Psychologist:MinEducationJob description:Job Description»Psychologist»Part-time position (Maternity Leave) »located in Waikato We are pursuing an enthusiastic, versatile and highly motivated individual to work with learners with continuing special education and behavioural needs in the Waikato, located in the Hamilton Office. This is a 0.8 position for up to one year while the incumbent is on maternity leave. The function would suit a registered psychologist with significant practice and qualifications. You will be responsible for providing high quality services to children with complex needs with a focus on severe and challenging behaviour. You will need the following: » An capability and availability to work in collaborative partnership with other professionals, agencies, families and the sector » An capability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team » Excellent interpersonal and communication expertise including an capability to sustain productive professional relationships » A genuine commitment to evidence located interventions which demonstrate inclusive education practice and contribute to raising student achievement » Post-graduate degree or diploma in education, special education or related discipline significant to the focus of the position (e.g. family work, discapability or mental health) » For Psychologists applying – a New Zealand Psychologist Board registration and current Practicing Certificate » Sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity and a commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi A current New Zealand driver’s licence is essential and practice in the NZ education system would be an advantage.
