This fixed term position is pivotal to the success of the restoration and redevelopment of the Kauri Story and practice within it. Information technology is an exciting time to get involved. As an practiced Project Manager, you will bring your practice and technical know-how to the construction team, ensuring the project delivers on time, its vision for our community and visitors to the Kaipara region. The Organisation: The Kauri Museum has a clear vision and purpose as guardians of the Kauri story, past, present and future. The museum is situated on the Kaipara Harbour, in the community of Matakohe, centred 45 minutes' drive from Mangawhai in the east and Dargaville in the west. Between them are small rural communities, harbour settlements and villages, increasingly attractive to people seeking change from Auckland only 2 hours drive to the south. The Kauri Museum tells the story of the people and the place, inseparable from the story of the Kauri. The Museum's many exhibition spaces and historic buildings regularly feature new and inspiring exhibitions and public events drawing onthe areas of science, tangata whenua, social history, and art. The function: As Project Manager, you will be responsible to the board of trustees and for superviseing the huge Capital Project we have underway. There are four components to this project, the delivery of a new Science & Discovery Centre, Collections/Research Centre, renovation of our Gumdiggers café and the creation of a Forest Walkway entrance. You will be taking direction and regularly liaising with the steering committee of each project, so you must be disciplined, organised and a great communicator. The Capital Project is to be finalised by September 2022. Initially, much of your function will be to finish scoping, obtaining quotes, consents and engaging subcontractors etc. If you are an practiced and proven Project Manager, with a commitment to delivering these exciting developments and a passion for the well-being of our communities, then you are the person we're looking for.
