Help shape the future of education We are pursuing a qualified and practiced specialist to join our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) school wide team in the Otago/Southland Region, located in the Invercargill office. This is an opportunity for you to affect positive behaviour change at a systems level. The Ministry of Education is committed to inclusive practice. We work alongside families, early childhood educators, schools and other agencies in order to make a positive difference for children and young people. About our group and team SE&S – Sector Enablement and Support Our teams around the country work closely with the Early Childhood and Schooling sectors, providers, and communities to provide support, skills and resources to help children and young people reach their full potential. We also directly provide Learning Support for around 40,000 children and young people. About this function PB4L School Wide is a whole school approach to improving learner behaviour and achievement. School Wide Practitioners provide training and continuing coaching to School-Wide teams set up within the school. They work with these school teams to implement consistent and sustainable behaviour support systems that promote quality teaching and learning. The School Wide Practitioner is effectively a coach, mentor and best practice resource for the development and maintenance of positive learning behaviour in the education sector. candidates are encouraged to read about the approach http://pb4l.tki.org.nz/PB4L-School-Wide before considering their application. About you Our ideal candidates will have undertaken some post-graduate studies in behaviour management and be an educational psychologist,orhold a degree or diploma in education, special education or other related discipline. Candidates should have proven competence in working with teachers in schools to reduce challenging student behaviours; be confident presenters and facilitators with groups of educators and demonstrate strong relationship management and influencing skills. practice in M?ori medium education and fluency in Te Reo M?ori would be an advantage. A good knowledge the links between PB4L with the Learning Support Delivery Model is desirable. Are you ready to make a difference?
