Research at Massey University is flourishing, as demonstrated by the strength and variety of the research and collaborations in which the institution is engaged. Research Development Advisors play a key function in driving the development and growth of research at Massey University while supporting the development of a thriving research culture. We are seeking for a proactive individual, who has a strong background in research management services and practice in supporting the development and reporting of research projects. The person will have a record of accomplishment in preparing proposals/grant applications, facilitating research collaborations, and will lead the management of several contereliable funding rounds. Ideally, they will have a sound knowledge of the New Zealand research funding system and the tertiary education sector, Vision M?tauranga, and hold a PhD or equivalent significant practice. Working with researchers, they will build effective relationships with funding organisations, community and industry partners, seek and procure external research and consultancy funding and support research project leaders to deliver their research projects. Knowledge of Pasifika perspectives, and demonstrated capability to reflect Pasifika community needs, aspirations and contributions as they relate to research, would be particularly advantageous as up to 0.2FTE could be focused on supporting our Pacific researchers. This individual will have specialist capcapability preferably in one or more of the following areas: health, humanities, business, or creative arts. They will need to be organised, possess high levels of initiative and solution-focus, and exercise effective writing, facilitation and team-building expertise. People-orientation, influencing, planning and excellent communication expertise will serve you well in this function. Located on our beautiful Manawat? Campus, Palmerston North, this is a full-time function (37.5 hours per week). The position sits within a broader established and talented team supporting research development and capcapability building in the Research and Enterprise Office and across the university.
