We are seeking for a Tenancy Advisor to join our City Housing team at Wellington City Council.

The City Housing team provides rental housing to low earnings families or individuals whose needs are not met by the private sector housing market. The team is Council’s social housing provider, one of New Zealand’s largest landlords and a lead player in the Council’s vision of ‘All Wellingtonians Well Housed.’

We’re looking for a Tenancy Advisor with amazing customer service and relationship management expertise who want to make a difference in the community. Our tenants come from a wide variety of backgrounds and some have complex needs. Our focus is on helping them to sustain their tenancy and providing a safe and reliable housing environment that allows them to achieve their goals.
No two days are the same for a Tenancy Advisor and you’ll need to manage your time well to balance a range of priorities. A single day could include activities as broad as signing up a new tenant, meeting your tenants at their home, representing City Housing at the Tenancy Tribunal and working with tenant volunteers to lead and run activities and events in our community spaces. One of the functions that we are advertising for will have a particular focus on the allocation of housing, including providing great customer service during the housing assessment process, allocation of vacant homes to new tenants, and management and administration of our housing waitlist.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend a 90 minutes assessment centre on Monday, 31 January 2022 from 3pm – 4.30pm.
