The function As the Manager of Planning and Reporting you will manage a robust team of 3 staff and support the Executive leadership abilities Team, Chair, and Council in adopting a strategy-led approach to planning, policy, and delivery. Leading a dynamic team, you will supervise a comprehensive program of work, utilising your practice to provide guidance and direction. Collaborating closely with senior stakeholders, you will drive strategic projects, foster business improvement, and cultivate organizational capcapability. Be part of shaping the future of the Wellington region and make a significant impact. Job responsibilities: • Demonstrate leadership abilities by fostering a high-performing and motivated team. • Ensure the delivery of high-quality project outputs from the team. • Collaborate with the Executive leadership abilities Team, senior managers, and councillors to drive the programme of work. • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to team members. • Lead the preparation and delivery of statutory planning and reporting documents, such as Long-Term Plans, Annual Plans, Annual Reports, and Pre-Election Reports. • Engage with stakeholders, including mana whenua, to ensure community involvement in planning processes. • Design and integrate systems and processes to support corporate planning and reporting. • Contribute to strategic conversations and policy discussions with intellectual leadership abilities. • Foster positive relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. • Manage the planning and reporting programme, ensuring key deliverables are met on time. • Identify critical issues, risks, and effective pathways for covering them.
