Korero mo te turanga – About the function
Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Team Leader Security Infrastructure and Services to join the team and work with Information technology delivering a safe and secure campus.
Reporting to the Security Manager you will bring your skills and practice of security systems and infrastructure to maintain and develop our systems. Also, you will undertake and support the investigation of incidents including recommending results and where appropriate updating or developing Standing Operating Procedures. As Team Leader of a small team of Security adjuncts you will provide leadership abilities and support including developing them into their functions.
Key Job responsibilities:
   » Ensure the effective operation of security technology and infrastructure
   » Provide a day to day technology solution that supports the operations of the security and caretaking staff
   » Contribute to consistent and continuous operational Campus Safety and Security service
   » Act for the Security Manager in his absence;
   » Develop annual staff plans
   » Ensure compliance with the University’s policies, procedures and reporting obligations, in particular those relating to health and safety and risk management

As the Team Leader Security Infrastructure and Systems you will bring a can-do attitude, a availability to deal with problems and develop innovative solutions. You will enjoy working and developing positive working relationships with others including external partners who supply our security technology. With practice in the security industry you will bring your expertise of the significant legislation.
Key Requirements:
   » Technical expertise of security systems including electronic access and cameras
   » expertise of security systems and infrastructure technology.
   » broad practice in security or policing
   » Sound expertise of significant security legislation, particularly Privacy Act and Digital Communications Act
   » Demonstrated capability in consultation and engagement with individuals and communities
   » Strong incident reviewing and reporting skills
   » Excellent interpersonal skills
   » Proven capability to work under pressure
   » Current clean driver’s licence
